Margo Frankel Woods State Park spans 136 acres of north Des Moines and is the perfect place to enjoy the natural flora and fauna as you hike, bike, and walk the area. The park’s grounds were once an ancient Algonkian and Sioux hunting ground, but is now a protected area named after Margo Frankel, an environmentalist who served on the State Park Board and Conservation Commission.
